Starting with its distinguished sterling silver finish, this reel almost looks too good to fish, but don’t be fooled, its packed with Daiwa’s leading technology. Within the polished Zaion V MQ body, AIRDRIVE DESIGN components provide flawless and effortless rotation. 

The light-weight Zaion V AIRDRIVE ROTOR and seamless tubular AIRDRIVE BAIL work harmoniously to remove any excess vibration or wobble and offer lightning-fast reactivity. Its sterling AIRDRIVE SPOOL further lightens the overall weight of the reel creating a smoother oscillation on the retrieve. Unique to this 60-year model, its machined aluminum handle arm and custom Zaion handle knobs finish the reel with form and function.

AIRDRIVE BAIL

Designed with a smaller diameter, reducing the weight of the front unit, while still providing strength. In comparison to previous light weight models, weight is reduced by 33% (2500 size). The angle of the bail has also been altered, improving line management by guiding the line through the line roller with ease.

AIRDRIVE SPOOL

A new spool skirt design to further reduces weight for improved oscillation, less resistance during rotation and better overall balance of the reel.

MONOCOQUE (MQ)

MQ Body takes reel design to the next level. The MQ system does not require a body cover, instead using an engine plate to screw directly to the body. Eliminating the need for screws to hold a body cover in place. MQ body improves the strength of the reel, it also improves the water-resistance of the body and allows a larger diameter drive gear to be installed.

ZAION V BODY

A new generation of lightweight Daiwa’s resin and carbon material. The Zaion V material is both strong and incredibly lightweight.
